Second Round Of Mountain Snow Arrives

The Winter Storm Warning issued for Yosemite National Park (above the valley floor), will continue through 1 PM Thursday. Additionally, the Winter Weather Advisory issued for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada, will remain in effect until 4 PM Thursday.

Heavy snow is forecast for elevations above 4,000 feet.

Snow levels will initially sit above 5,500 feet this morning, before dropping down to 4,000 to 5,000 feet by this evening. The snow levels will continue to drop down to 3,000 to 3,500 feet by Thursday morning.

A light dusting of snow is possible between 3,000 to 4,000 feet. The total snow accumulations above the 4,000 foot elevation, will range between three inches to two feet. The higher you go, the more the snow

Winds may gust as high as forty-five mph. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
